Aesthetically they are very similar, both models share colors: black, red and white along with a glossy finish so you can’t stop looking at them. Now in detail: we begin by looking at the technologies of the 2 models, since they are shared by almost all of them, starting with its oversize diamond format with high balance, to achieve greater power in hitting, designed exclusively to take advantage of the great shot of Ale Galán.

Thanks to the new drilling pattern, its sweet spot is quite wide, something that greatly improves control sensations against off-center balls. But without a doubt its main feature is found in being able to adjust its weight and balance thanks to the Weight and Balance technology, thanks to the 6 characteristic screws that we find in the heart area.

Differences between the Metalbone HRD and the Metalbone 3.2 2023

The answer lies in the type of rubber on the core. In the case of the Metabone 3.2, Eva Soft Performance rubber has been used, the softest that Adidas uses and which is distinguished by the black plug it uses. So the touch is more intermediate, providing a great ball output and comfort in the game.

If we analyze the rubber of the Metalbone HRD, we see that it incorporates high memory eva rubber, that is, a fast recovery foam that gives it a hard touch. This type of rubber is identified with the red stopper and provides greater rigidity, with which the ball comes out with more power and precision, making it a more demanding racket.

So it seems to us that the Metalbone HRD is easier to handle near the net and its stiffer touch provides extra control and power on layups, volleys or vipers.

We continue testing the Metalbone 3.2, a padel racket with soft rubber so on the track it gives us a softer touch, so it seems to us a more comfortable padel racket. When it comes to defending compromised balls, I know that its sweetness is appreciated, since it improves its sweet spot and that makes it more grateful in defense situations. We also noticed that it has more output and offers a greater rebound for the ball, so in that aspect, we give it a better grade.

Near the net it gives us the feeling that he has a less powerful hit. However, by hitting the right technique you can play volleys, layups or snakes with speed and depth. It is when playing the shot that we notice that he absorbs the ball more. Although it is a racket with a good punch, it does not offer as much power as the HRD and it costs a little more to get the ball x 3 or bring it to our course.

Opinion and tests on track

After testing them on the track, the feeling they give us is that they are undoubtedly one of the best padel rackets of the season, it is that their design allows the ball to come out with great speed and precision, something that is appreciated because less is generated when hitting effort allowing a longer performance in each game.

After testing its response both in attack, defense and reaction to off-center balls, we recommend the Metalbone 3.2 to players who are looking for a powerful, comfortable racket with output. For its part, the Metalbone HRD, being harder, is a more demanding racket that we believe will be enjoyed more by hitters, those players who already have a good finishing technique since it offers a better output and we think that they will get more out of their core more hard.

And up to here our comparison of Ale Galán’s rackets, two high-performance rackets that will undoubtedly take your game to the level of the professionals.
