At Zona de Pádel, we review Delfi Brea’s career, one of the most solid players on the women’s circuit who has already captivated the public with the passion she transmits on the 20×10 in the most demanding matches.
Biography of Delfi Brea
From a young age, the player from Buenos Aires practiced sports like football, basketball, or handball until she started to stand out with a racket in hand in the junior tennis categories in Argentina. She competed semi-professionally until the age of 12 when she decided to switch courts to the 20×10 due to the physical differences with her opponents.
Her father Nito Brea, one of the most recognized players at that time in Argentina, was key in this decision by running a padel club in Buenos Aires, where Delfi Brea began to train daily.

After standing out in numerous tournaments alongside Aranza Osoro, she secured a sponsorship that allowed her to travel to Spain in 2015, when she was just 15 years old. Her time in the Mediterranean country was crucial to start considering that she could make a living from padel, as she acknowledged: “I loved it, it was a different planet, another padel, other courts, another recognition of the sport…”
Two years later, at 17, she moved to Spain leaving her family behind to try to make her dream come true. During the first season, she began to adapt to the elite level of the World Padel Tour alongside Sara Pujals, and in 2018 the experienced Ana Catarina Nogueira trusted her to start showing what she was capable of despite her youth.
Together with the Portuguese, Delfi began to establish herself as an important player project by winning the Valladolid Challenger. Her prominent role caught the attention of the top-ranked players, as she reached the 20th position of the World Padel Tour at 18 years old.
It was then that Mapi Sánchez Alayeto called her, who at that time shared the number one ranking with her sister Majo. The player from Buenos Aires received a masterclass in padel that lasted half a season until Majo recovered from a severe injury.

Subsequently, Delfi began what would be the first of her two stints with Bea González, forming a very young pair that impressed with their offensive potential. They had previously competed together winning the Spanish championship under-23, but never before in the World Padel Tour. Together, they lifted two Challenger titles in Paris and San Javier and managed to reach the semifinals of the Master Final before going their separate ways.
In 2020, the drive player joined forces with Ana Catarina Nogueira again, but their second journey together was not as fruitful as the one that launched her into the elite. They failed to gel well, and Delfi suffered significant psychological wear by setting very high standards for herself, leading both to end the project earlier than expected.
It was then that Tamara Icardo appeared on the Argentine’s path. The player from Valencia and she formed a very tough team that surprised the top pairs in the ranking with their boldness and power. Together, they shone in the post-pandemic stage and showed what they were capable of by lifting two World Padel Tour titles in Valencia and Santander.
However, the successes of 2021 were not repeated in 2022, as the Spanish-Argentine pair moved from the third position in the ranking to the ninth. The inconsistency on the 20×10 of both and a complicated wrist injury of Tamara Icardo meant that the results were not as expected, leading both players to change air for not even qualifying for the Master Final.
After a year full of doubts and insecurities and a start to 2023 in which she did not clear up alongside Sofia Araújo, Delfi returned to where she was happy by reuniting with Bea González. The boldness, aggressiveness, and power of both on the courts led them to experience the best season of their careers, adding eight titles (two from Premier Padel and six from World Padel Tour) that definitively consolidated them as two of the best players in the world.

Currently, they hold the second position in the ranking and will seek to dethrone Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, whom they have already defeated in two finals last season.
Best Points by Delfi Brea
The player from Buenos Aires is characterized by a style of play based on quick transitions from defense to attack to ultimately score the point near the net. She doesn’t hesitate when the opportunity to play a winning shot arises at key moments in the match, hence her significant progress in recent seasons.
Beyond her defensive aspect, Delfi Brea is lethal when she has a comfortable ball to execute her signature viboras at the back of the court or to change the volley’s gesture at the last second to win the point, surprising her opponents.
Bullpadel, Official Sponsor of Delfi Brea
The Argentine player’s career has been linked from the beginning to Bullpadel, the brand that bet on her when she was starting to stand out in her early tournaments as a teenager.
Like other world-class players such as Juan Tello, Martín Di Nenno or her own partner Bea González, she competes with the Vertex racquet line, known for its reactivity and control to deliver the best performance on the 20×10.
This is Delfi Brea’s new racquet for 2024:

RRP: 230,00 €
- Shape: Diamond
- Play: Power
- Weight: 350-360 grams
The new Vertex 04 Woman by Delfi Brea is a racquet designed for attacking players who seek to define the point when the ball comes from above. It features a diamond shape and the sweet spot and balance are located in the mid-high part of the racquet, significantly favoring smashes.
It comes with a semi-soft touch thanks to its Multi-Eva rubber core, providing great sensations for both slow and fast balls. It is composed of fiberglass and a carbon reinforcement in the tubular for greater resistance. Additionally, its weight is between 350 and 360 grams and includes Vibradrive technology to reduce vibrations when hitting, adding a plus of comfort to the game.
Achievements of Delfi Brea
Despite her youth, the Argentine player already knows what it is to win titles recurrently on the best padel stages worldwide, although she still has the mission to achieve international trophies with the Argentine national women’s team.
Her first victory was achieved in 2018 with Ana Catarina Nogueira, while her most successful season was the last one alongside Bea González, where they managed to clinch metal on eight occasions to secure the second position in the world ranking.
