Biography of Momo González
Momo González was born in the Malaga city of Antequera on February 21, 1997 (27 years old).
At the age of eleven, he switched from tennis to padel, probably one of the best decisions he has made in his life. As a cadet, he already demonstrated his potential as a world runner-up, a feat he later confirmed by winning the gold medal in the junior category with his partner José Carlos Gaspar.

After honing his skills alongside players like Gaby Reca, Mati Marina, and Javier González Barahona, he managed to establish himself in the final rounds of the World Padel Tour with Adrián ‘Tito’ Allemandi in 2020.
The following season, he formed a reliable duo with Javi Rico, lifting two Challenger titles of the World Padel Tour in Marbella and La Nucía. In addition, he qualified for the Master Final, where he debuted brilliantly despite falling in the quarterfinals to Pablo Lima.
His good performance in 2021 led him to be part of the Spanish team in the World Team Padel Championship held in Doha in November, where Spain added its fourth star.

In April 2022, Momo decided to join forces with Álex Ruiz. The two Andalusians formed a pair that quickly solidified in the top 10 due to their versatility, even reaching the semifinals of the Master Final, the most important tournament of the season.
Additionally, both competed together in what is probably the most important match they have played in their careers: the final of the World Team Padel Championship 2022 held in Dubai.
As in 2021, the duel between Spain and Argentina was repeated, this time with Momo González present in the final lineup. The title was decided in the third match, where the experience of Fernando Belasteguín and Sanyo Gutiérrez became evident to overcome the Malaga pair.
Despite 2023 promising to be an exciting season for the Andalusian duo, Álex Ruiz decided to start a new project with Juan Tello ‘the Cat’, leading Momo to join the talented drive player Mike Yanguas.
Their alliance was short but productive. They managed to win their first tournament together, the Reus Open 500, but the separation of Fernando Belasteguín and Sanyo Gutiérrez a week later broke up this promising duo.
The man from Antequera went on to team up with one of his idols, Sanyo Gutiérrez, from whom he learned “a master’s in padel,” as he said in an interview with Marca.

After a great start in which they signed two finals in the World Padel Tour (Danish Open and Marbella Master) and a semifinal in the Madrid P1 of Premier Padel, the devastating version near the net of the Spanish-Argentinian pair faded as the tournaments went by, leading to their separation.
Last September, Momo made the surprising decision to switch sides to form a pair with Javi Garrido, thus embarking on a new adventure as a drive player.
Both signed a decent end of the season, where Javi Garrido was in charge of unleashing his hitting power and Momo continued to practice his proven defensive skills. However, they were unable to overcome the quarterfinal barrier together in any of the eight tournaments they competed in.
Best Points of Momo González
The patience of the Antequeran to work each point creates situations where the opponents decide to finish quickly.
Where other players suffer, Momo González enjoys. Therefore, his best plays arise from unbelievable defenses when the opposing pair has practically given up the point as lost.
Aligned with the PUMA Brand
Momo, one of the players most loved for his smile both on and off the court, competes with the Puma padel rackets in the best padel stages in the world after ending his association with StarVie in 2021.
The renowned brand bet again on this sport at the beginning of 2022 and chose the Malagueño as one of its visible faces. His exclusively designed racket, the Puma Solar Attack 2023 Momo González, has not gone unnoticed on the courts since then.

Momo González’s Titles Record
The versatile 26-year-old Spanish player already knows what it is to win tournaments in the World Padel Tour and representing the Spanish national team, although he still has that mission to accomplish in Premier Padel.
The extreme competitiveness existing in the professional padel circuits has meant that the player from Antequera has not lifted many titles despite being regularly present in the final rounds. However, Momo González has a long way to go and it is normal that he can expand his showcase in the future.
These have been his achievements in the World Padel Tour and with the Spanish team:
